ARC engineers, scientists and students apply specialized knowledge and skills in state-of-the-art research facilities to understand the underlying science and develop and deploy technology solutions to complex environmental challenges while training the environmental workforce of tomorrow. Environmental research includes waste processing (high level radioactive waste), deactivation and decommissioning, water resources, soil and groundwater remediation, and geographic information systems.
