Anthony Abrahao, Research Scientist<\/p><\/div>\n

Mr. Abrahao is a Research Scientist at the Florida International University\u2019s Applied Research Center in Miami; where he manages the Applied Robotics Laboratory overseeing, mentoring, supporting, and collaborating on several projects funded by DOE-EM, DOE-NETL, DOT, and NSF, including the development of:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • robotic crawlers and inspection tools for pits, pipelines, boilers, single and double-shell radioactive waste tanks,<\/li>\n
  • autonomous mobile platform for long term surveillance of nuclear facilities and repositories,<\/li>\n
  • erosion and subsurface mapping of waste disposal cells,<\/li>\n
  • aerial unmanned vehicles (UAVs) for nondestructive evaluation of post-tension cable corrosion in concrete bridges,<\/li>\n
  • autonomous concrete structures repair using ultra-high-performance shotcrete and dexterous manipulators, and<\/li>\n
  • bridge component 3D printing using ultra-high-performance concrete.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Before joining FIU, Mr. Abrahao had broad industry experience designing mechatronic and fluid-thermal systems.<\/p>\n

    He received his bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Uberlandia in Brazil.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
