<\/a><\/a>On October 28, 2009 Dr. George Philippidis was a guest of reporter Hernan Restrepo on the Colombian National Radio.\u00a0 George answered questions about algae and algal fuels noting that it is a promising technology because it combines carbon capture and use of brackish water to produce renewable fuels, like\u00a0diesel, with yields per acre that exceed by 10-fold or more the yields of ethanol from corn and biodiesel from palm oil.\u00a0 However, technical challenges remain to be overcome before algal fuels become a commercial reality.<\/p>\n
